Speculation about Mexican forward’s future at Old Trafford has reached fever pitch, with La Liga powerhouses Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid on his tail.

We reported last month Hernandez could be used as a pawn to facilitate Cristiano Ronaldo’s return, having left United for a world record transfer fee of £80m four years ago.

And now it seems he has caught the attention of Serie A champions Juventus.

A report in Italian paper Tuttosport claims Hernandez has become a more viable option after chasing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gonzalo Higuain and Carlos Tevez.

They also suggest Juventus have asked for a detailed report on Hernadez from Old Trafford officials as they look to firm up their interest.

Hernandez who has been valued at around £20m, hit 18 goals in all competitions for United last term.

The 24-year-old, who recently signed a two-year extension with his current club West Ham United, has just completed an impressive season in the English Premier League for which he was named the London club’s player of the year.

The rumours have come to light after Norwegian football journalist, and former chief executive of French club AS Monaco, Tor-Kristian Karlsen took to his Twitter account to say Reid had been linked with two English clubs.

“I have on good authority that two Premier League clubs (one apparently being Arsenal) are interested in West Ham’s centre-back Winston Reid,” Karlsen tweeted.

While there has been no official comment from either West Ham or Arsenal regarding the rumour, Karlsen does seem to carry some clout in the European football industry.

A regular contributor to respected publications such as The Guardian, The Times, The Independent and stations such has BBC radio, he also worked as a scout for football clubs Grasshopper Zurich, Watford, Bayer Leverkusen, Hannover and Zenit St Petersburg

Were Reid to be signed by Arsenal it would be arguably be the biggest transfer in New Zealand football history, eclipsing Wynton Rufer’s move to German side Werder Bremen in 1989.

Reid, who was born in Auckland before moving to Denmark when aged 10, started his footballing career in his adopted country before making the move to West Ham in August 2010.

The portuguese winger has had a mix season at United and has never really established himself in the first team and with the new boss Moyes in charge his days are numbered.

Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim believes that Nani would be a perfect fit for the club, a club that already has Wesley Sneijder and Didier Drogba in it’s ranks and who did quite well in the Champions League this season.

He passed his medical on 6 June 2007,and signed a five-year contract a month later, joining Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo—with whom he lived for a time at the start of his Manchester United career—at the club.

The £15m-rated midfielder is also on the radar of Manchester City this summer, with the 22-year-old keen to leave Camp Nou in the pursuit of greater first-team opportunities.

The former Everton boss, who arrived at Carrington on Monday to meet with club staff after replacing Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, is set to maintain United’s long-standing interest in the 22-year-old.

Sir Alex made informal enquiries regarding the youngster’s availability two years ago but was rebuffed by Barcelona, who rewarded Thiago with a four-year contract in 2011.

Thiago has been deployed as both a creative and deep–lying pivot midfielder at Camp Nou since making his debut in 2009, but has seen his first-team opportunities restricted following the arrivals of Cesc Fabregas and Alex Song from Arsenal.

The midfielder has a release clause of €90 million (£77m) in his current contract with the Spanish champions – though reports in Spain have suggested this may have been dropped to as low as €17m (£14.5m) in recent weeks.

As such, Old Trafford officials are confident a bid of around £15m could be enough to tempt Barcelona into selling their man.

United also feel that his wage demands would fit comfortably within the club’s current salary structure.

The Daily Star says Jovetic, 23, has been a top target for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger for the last year and the north Londoners have been quietly confident they could land their man.

But the Special One is also a big fan of the Montenegro ­international and looks ready to make a move for him once he arrives back at Chelsea next month.

A source close to Jovetic said last night: “Jose appreciates JoJo (Jovetic) a lot. Let’s see what happens when he is at Chelsea.”

According to reports in the UK media, Ferguson’s chewing gum was somehow retrieved from The Hawthorns after being he spat it out following his final game before retirement against West Brom last Sunday.

Podolski took time to settle this season after joining the Gunners from Cologne last summer for £11m.

The Germany international’s future has been the subject of growing speculation, and we reported recently that he is on Turkish giants Galatasaray’s radar along with Gervinho.

Though Wenger has launched a staunch defence of Podolski, he has failed to rule out that anything can happen in football.

“There are always offers, I don’t have any influence on that,” Podolski told German paper Bild.

“Of course I feel honoured.

“But, the fact is, I have a contract with Arsenal. There’s no reason to leave the club. However, in the football-business a lot of things are conceivable.”

Podolski’s contract runs up in 2016.

The 24-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Dortmund last summer, but has been far from a first-team regular and even then has often had to play out of position.

The departure of Kagawa is part of a pattern for Dortmund coach Klopp, who this season has seen Mario Gotze agree to join Champions League final opponents Bayern Munich, with Robert Lewandowski looking likely to follow.
Dortmund’s wage bill is half that of Bayern’s and, despite stunning Real Madrid 7-0 on the way to the Champions League final, they are powerless to stop their star men from leaving this summer.

Klopp admits hearing that Gotze would leave was “like a heart attack” and told the Guardian: “Shinji Kagawa is one of the best players in the world and he now plays 20 minutes at Manchester United – on the left wing.

“My heart breaks. Really, I have tears in my eyes. Central midfield is Shinji’s best role. He’s an offensive midfielder with one of the best noses for goal I ever saw.

“But for most Japanese people it means more to play for Man United than Dortmund. We cried for 20 minutes, in each others’ arms, when he left.
“One year before that Nuri Sahin went because Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world. If players are patient enough we can develop the team into one of the biggest in the world.”

With £70 million to spend, Arsenal are preparing for their most adventurous transfer window under Arsène Wenger and are conscious of the need to move quickly within a market that will become intense following all the major managerial changes.

Wenger was interested in Higuaín before he even joined Real Madrid from River Plate in 2007 and there is a feeling that he could now be attainable for what would be a club-record transfer fee of £19 million.

Wenger confirmed on Friday that Arsenal were in talks for Yaya Sanogo but the Auxerre forward, 20, would be seen as a signing for the long term.

Tottenham Hotspurs are going to pay a heavy price in not qualifying for the Champions League as Gareth Bale will seek a £200k a week contract this summer.

The Wales international realises his chances of playing in a World Cup or even a European Championship with his national team are slim, making Champions League involvement all the more important to him.

But Tottenham are going to have to improve his salary to around the £200,000-a-week mark — putting him on a par with the best-paid players in the Premier League such as Yaya Toure, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie — to make up for his huge disappointment at not taking part in European club football’s flagship competition.

A Spurs source said: ‘The vital issue will be getting the Champions League out of Gareth’s head before he commits for another season.That won’t be easy.’

Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas’s remarks after the fifth-place finish in the Premier League point to his hardball chairman Daniel Levy realising he will have to almost double Bale’s current deal, with Real Madrid likely to offer at least £50m to lure him.

Villas-Boas said: ‘If we want to make it better next season we have to hold on to our best assets.’
Bale scored yet another stunning last-minute match-winner for Spurs on Sunday which only increase his value further – but the Tottenham chairman is determined to avoid a long drawn-out summer of bargaining and wants the 23-year-old to sign on the dotted line.

The Daily Mail says Kroenke has given the go-ahead for Arsenal to increase their wage bill to help the club become title contenders next season.

Arsenal are determined to sign at least three star players — a keeper, a holding midfielder and a striker — and manager Arsene Wenger has been given at least £70million for transfer fees by Kroenke, the club’s majority shareholder.

Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott are the top earners on around £100,000 a week but the club would be willing to offer £150,000 a week for the right player.

Chief executive Ivan Gazidis said: “Mr Kroenke has made it clear that our ultimate objective is to win major trophies. We all share that ambition. Arsene and I have been planning what we need to do.”

Real president Florentino Perez last night confirmed at a press conference that Mourinho, as expected, would be leaving Madrid at the end of the season on June 2.

Mourinho has come to an agreement with Real that the £10 million penalty clause applicable to either side if his contract is broken early has been waived.

It means that he now walks away and Chelsea owner Abramovich will get the man he wants as Chelsea’s new manager for free. Real are now clear to bring in Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Mourinho’s three-year reign at the Bernabeu ended as Perez said: “It’s not an ideal situation that he is leaving, but after three years we both agree that it was the right time.

“He believes that the best thing is if he leaves the club and I share his reasons. It’s the right decision to start a new project.

“We don’t think our achievements of this year have been sufficient for a demanding club like Real Madrid.

“Mourinho was not sacked. It was a mutual agreement.

“He may have made mistakes, but the level of pressure he has been under has been unusual. The balance of his stay here was positive.”

Mourinho won La Liga in 2012, but three times failed in the semi-finals of the Champions league.

He is now expected to be named as Chelsea’s manager later in that first week in June on a three-year deal worth about £12 million a year, that has been agreed but not yet signed.

According to reports in Italy, Lichsteiner is being lined up as a replacement for current first-choice Sagna, who has admitted he is open to leaving the club.

Lichsteiner can play at right-back or right midfield, and the Switzerland international is thought to have impressed Wenger during a campaign where he has 39 times for club and country, scoring four goals.

PSG and Monaco are the frontrunners to sign Sagna, who may have to pay around £10 million for the Frenchman’s services, which is set to be invested immediately in a replacement by the North London outfit.

And Lichsteiner has been mooted as a potential departure from Turin this summer to help raise funds for new signings, which include Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

Lichsteiner, 29, is just a year younger than Sagna and his signing would allow deputy Carl Jenkinson to continue his development whilst learning from a more experience colleague.

Moyes signed off at Everton with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Chelsea yesterday, but the Toffees fans let their boss leave with their blessing after he ended his 11-year tenure with the club.

Sir Alex Ferguson ended his own story with Manchester United after a stunning 5-5 draw at West Brom – the first in Premier League history – but there was no rest for the 71-year-old as he welcomed Moyes to the Carrington training ground today.

Moyes and Ferguson were pictured in a car arriving at Carrington with kit manager Albert Morgan, as Moyes looks to start his plans for his new job in earnest.

The 50-year-old will combine his duties of his new career and that at his former club throughout the week, as he hopes to enact a smooth handover.

“I’ll probably be doing two jobs for the next week or so,” said Moyes.

“I’m sad that I’m leaving Everton. Look at the players. I brought every one of them, except Tony Hibbert and Leon Osman, who were already here. I hope every one of them will think it was worthwhile joining Everton.

“I hope I’m leaving the club in a better condition than when I took over and I think the group of players they’ve got are a top group of players.”

“I’ll go into Finch Farm [Everton's training ground] some of the days next week and make sure everything’s in place for whoever the incoming manager is. Most of it is anyway, but I’ll just make sure that everything’s as ready as I can leave it.”

One of the Scottish successor’s first jobs at the Red Devils will be to thrash out the future of want-away striker Wayne Rooney – who is attracting interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, PSG and Monaco.

However, Rooney’s striker partner will not pose Moyes such problems, with Robin Van Persie insisting the entire United squad are behind the new boss.
