Inter Milan v Tottenham Hotspur – TEAM NEWS

gareth-baleGoalkeeper Samir Handanovic is back in the Inter squad after missing a defeat to Bologna at the weekend due to suspension, while defender Andrea Ranocchia is included despite being operated on this week to cure a nose problem. Inter are missing a whole host of star names, including Diego Milito, Walter Samuel, Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Yuto Nagatomo.

Tottenham are without Gareth Bale as the Wales star picked up a booking in the first leg and is suspended. Brad Friedel will replace Hugo Lloris in goal once more for a Europa League tie and Emmanuel Adebayor is pushing for a start after overcoming an ankle injury.

Andrea Stramaccioni: “We all know the importance of the remaining 10 league games but our head is on tomorrow night. We must do well and win in front of our fans. We have a difficult result to overturn but we take to the field to win.”

Andre Villas-Boas: “There is no scoreline that could make us change six or seven players so we will play a strong team to make sure we go through in this competition. We take this game very seriously. We’ve been in situation where he is not with us and we got results. Gareth (Bale) can make a difference in any game, we know. We will miss him but we won’t want to prove anything without him because we believe a lot in ourselves and also we believe in Gareth. It’s not a case of proving anything. We just want to do our job to get through.”
