Monaco Agree Deal with Arsenal for Andrei Arshavin
Andrei Arshavin who was Arsenal’s record signing from Zenit St Petersburg is set to leave the Gunners and join Ligue 2 side Monaco.
Fanatix reports that the clubs are soon to agree a deal that would see Arsenal further depleting their squad with no confirmed signings in the January window.
From Fanatix:
Arshavin’s decline has been quite remarkable, and he rarely gets in the Arsenal matchday squad these days; instead linked with a move away to Reading, Lazio or Monaco.
Perceived laziness has not helped; nor has being deployed on the left wing instead of in his favoured position behind the striker – where he would have to do decidedly less tracking back than on the flank.
If he can return to his previous Gunners form in France – and it is easy to forget Arshavin once scored four goals against Liverpool at Anfield and the winner against Barcelona – AS Monaco could have a fine player on their hands.
