DC United Offering Ryan Nelsen player-coach role
DC United are believed to be chasing QPR centre-back Ryan Nelsen.
The MLS club are hoping to lure the 35-year old New Zealand national team captain back to Washington with promises of a player-coach role according to reports.
Nelsen has made 18 appearances of 21 Premier League matches for QPR, who sit bottom of the table, and is admired by manager Harry Redknapp who briefly brought him to Tottenham after a long career with Blackburn Rovers.
Nelsen spent four years with DC between 2001 and 2005 after moving from Christchurch, playing more than 80 times for the black and reds.
