Chievo 0-0 AS Roma – Highlights


Roma were held to a goalless draw by Chievo on a waterlogged pitch that ruined the Serie A game as a spectacle.

The home side, who secured Serie A football with the point, had more chances than Roma, who would have liked a victory but are still in the hunt for a Champions League place, lying three points behind four sides in joint-third with two matches remaining.

In atrocious conditions at Stadio Marc Antonio Bentegodi, it was about as far removed from a spectacle as one could imagine, with both ball and players unable to follow any kind of natural trajectory on a surface that resembled the Florida Everglades.

It was near impossible to pass the ball on the deck, while high passes caused as many problems for attackers as defenders as it was just as difficult to gauge whether and how the ball would stick or spin on landing.
