Celtic Join Race To Sign LA Galaxy Striker Robbie Keane

It has been revealed that Celtic are ready to compete with Aston Villa for LA Galaxy striker Robbie Keane.

The Scottish Sun revealed that Keane, 31, is available on a two-month contract from LA Galaxy.

Villa boss Alex McLeish is desperate to land the Republic of Ireland hitman and sources in the Midlands last night insisted signing talks were at an advanced stage.

Celts have been kept updated on the Keane situation as he ponders his next move. Neil Lennon is eager to sign another striker as he bids to stop Rangers clinching four in a row and Keane’s representatives have been told Celtic could be an option if he wants it.

Keane is currently training with old club Tottenham after helping LA Galaxy win the MLS title.
