Everton Slap £30 Million Price Tag On Manchester United Target Jack Rodwell
Manchester United have been told that it will take £30 million to land Everton rookie Jack Rodwell.
It is believed that Sir Alex Ferguson is a long-term admirer of the Everton centre-back and is planning to establish an English core to his United defence for years to come.
He has already signed Fulham’s Chris Smalling and now the United manager wants to finish his rebuilding by signing Rodwell, 18.
However it is said that Everton are reluctant to sell but the Toffees have a good relationship with Manchester United.
It is also said that David Moyes was furious with the way Manchester City conducted themselves in their pursuit of Joleon Lescott, though he eventually sold the England defender for £24m.
A club insider told reporters that “Jack is one of the brightest talents here but, although David Moyes wants to keep him, everyone has a price.
He also said that “It will take big money to sign him and United are interested. He [Alex Ferguson] has a good relationship with the Everton manager, unlike what happened in the summer with City.”
