David Villa Hopes To Join FC Barcelona In The Summer

Valencia striker David Villa remains hopeful of joining Spanish champions FC Barcelona in the summer.

It is believed that Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola made an attempt for Villa over the summer before selling Samuel Eto’o to Inter Milan for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

It is also said that Guardiola even spoke to Villa via telephone about a move to the Nou Camp.

It is now reported by the Spanish media that David Villa remains keen on seeing the deal happen at the end of this season.

Working in Villa’s favour is that he would be welcomed to Barcelona by the players, with the senior leadership group all holding the striker in high esteem.
