Manchester United Closing In On Schalke 04 Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer

English Premier League champions Manchester United are reported to be closing in on an agreement for Schalke 04 goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Local newspapers have reported that the German has been on Sir Alex Ferguson’s radar for more than a year and United believe they will land their top target for next season.

Schalke is said to be demanding a fee around the region of £10million for their young star, but Manchester United are only prepared to pay half that price.

The anticipated arrival of Neuer will place serious question marks over the future of England’s World Cup hopeful Ben Foster and current No2 Tomas Kuszczak.
