Cristiano Ronaldo To Miss Portugal’s Play-Off Matches
World football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is set to miss both legs of Portugal’s World Cup play-off against Bosnia and Herzegovina with an ankle injury.
Portuguese Football Federation doctors checked the winger’s fitness after he flew into Lisbon yesterday and agreed with Real Madrid’s diagnosis.
Real Madrid had initially baulked at allowing their £80million man to travel ahead of Portugal’s first-leg clash on Saturday.
Ronaldo had earlier stated that he is desperate to make sure that Portugal reach the World Cup finals in South Africa next year.
