Torres Admits Playing Through Pain Against United
Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has admitted that he played injured in yesterday’s victory over Manchester United and that he was not at 100 percent
The Spanish international hitman returned from an adductor injury to net a superb opening goal as Rafa Benitez’s side beat the Premier League champions 2-0 in front of a passionate Anfield crowd.
Torres told reporters that he was not really at his best and that everyone knew before the game that he could not play to 100 per cent because of the pain.
However Torres said that pain does not matter in a big game like the game against Manchester United.
Sunday’s win leaves Liverpool just four points behind champions United and six behind Premier League leaders Chelsea.
